Memories.. [26 Feb 2006|10:02pm]
A song that I want to learn someday on the guitar, and seems to fit so well for the feeling.

I guess this now explains why my friends can almost never sneak up on me.

Deep down, in every one of you, there's a little goblin. Good thing we solved that logically!

Some days just get you in a good, relaxed, romantic mood.

Okay, so maybe the last part is only if you're a hopeless-romantic at heart, but work with me here!

Yep, that's all the update I'm giving. Later!

[14 Feb 2006|05:53am]
Ah, perhaps it's a corny old Hallmark holiday, but Valentine's Day can be a damn nice time to just appreciate what you have. A wonderful time to hang out with friends and those you care about, and look forward to everything getting a bit sunnier. It's February, so the majority of ugly weather is behind you, can start looking forward to spring, then summer, warmer weather, all those things that remind us of our favorite, laid back times.

So why not spend the day right? If you have a nice squeeze, go that extra mile for them. Sure it's a corny ass, silly reason, not to mention that why should you hold back for "special days." But hey, why not hit the afterburners for a day, it's as good a reason as any. Give them everything you've got. If you don't, well we all have our cherished memories, or our hopes and dreams.

Anyway, it's late as well-preserved fuck, so I'm heading to bed. Night folks, maybe sometime later I'll do an actual update. Don't count on it though. :P

Some days just aren't very upbeat. Don't get me wrong, it's not being grouchy about the cold shower this morning(water-lines are getting fixed), or the exam tonight, or two essays due tomorrow. It's really not anything to do with life in general right now, which I'm not complaining about at all. But still, getting to spend a day mulling over racism? Not my idea of a happy time.

Not really a very uplifting morning to be typing away about the eradication of people over unrealistic ideas of biological inferiority, and being "sub-human." Like some weird, sick perversion of so many decent ideals. Sure it's temporary, but just doesn't lead to a very happy morning when you get to focus on it while you write out your essay.

While speaking in North Carolina this week, President Bush said:
"The economy is strong, and the best days are yet to come," adding "also, the war is going great, we don't torture people, I'm eleven feet tall, and if you don't believe me, you can ask my unicorn!"

[02 Feb 2006|02:11pm]
Hmm, let's see.. News that has really occurred since.. you know, whenever the fuck I last seriously updated this bloody thing.

The new apartment is a pretty nice place, even if it does go somewhat against my want for laziness. It's about a 40 minute walk from city-centre, which was not a happy thing for me the past few weeks when I was sick with both the flu and that tonsil infection at the same time. Still, it's decent exercise, and actually has me pretty close to the gym area, so pretty easy to make it to the night practices.

Other than the location, the apartment itself is rather funny, in a few different ways. One would be that I don't have a door handle, but that's a more.. uh.. personal improvement. This can be read as "I accidentally ripped the door handle off while getting into my room one time." Okay, well that and the toilet seat coming off in my hand the first day I was there. Seriously folks, if you ever feel a bit weak, come over to my apartment. You'll feel like the Incredible Hulk in about 10 minutes.

Anyway, other than my subconscious attempts to dismantle the building one step at a time, the apartment is pretty fun. Roommates consist of two other Americans, a Russian and a guy from Malaysia. I'd like to think that we keep the apartment surprisingly clean for five guys living there, have plenty of DVD's to watch between Roman's(the Russian) collection and mine. Plus it's rather amusing when you can wake up at any hour, decide to maybe make some food and watch a DVD, and one of the others is doing the same damn thing.

The internet is a bit odd at the apartment, they have a firewall from hell set up. Of course, that just means that while any pop-up, website, and virus is let through, the AIM program can't operate since they lock all but like.. 2 ports. Oh well, I can still play my super-awesome amazing java games!

Oh yeah, apparently 9 year-old Starcraft won't work on 1 1/2 year old laptop, because the laptop runs the CD constantly until it overheats and locks up. Now that's some smart engineering right there, huh?

Anyway, enough typing for me, I've got about 20 minutes before class, and I feel more like drawing or something instead.

ah HA! [30 Jan 2006|06:00am]
Finally! Figured out one of those little questions that had been nagging the back of my head, and never got anyone to answer.

When you look at test images of nuclear explosions, there were always lines of smoke to each side of the explosion. I at one point even found a graduate student on nuclear engineering at one point, and asked them, and no one could give me an answer on what the damn things were, or what caused them. So hunted around, wondered if maybe they were from lightning strikes, as nuclear blasts cause those. Except lightning doesn't leave smoke where it was.

Turns out that in military tests, they would send up rockets to form smoke-trails before the explosion so that photography could mark the position and movement of the blast front in the milliseconds after the blast, via the distortion of the smoke trails. So that's why no one could figure it out. They don't make sense with the damn explosion, because they're not a part of the fucking explosion.

Yay, now I can go to sleep.

Alright, it's official.

I need to get myself a digital camera, and take pictures way the hell more often than I currently do.

Alright, so I haven't updated here much, and I even completely let Christmas go by without any notice. So here, I'll explain it all as simply as possible:

In my world, fresh-baked brownies and home-made mashed potatoes are WAY the hell more important. :P

Heh, and now life has now gained another unexpected development. Should be interesting to see how the next few weeks work out. I suppose one way or the other, I'm going to be seeing exactly how quickly I can manage altering and arranging plans that are usually supposed to take months. This should be fun.

[08 Dec 2005|03:11am]
By the way, just as a quick update:

Yep, coming home for christmas now. Should be in Arizona on the 19th at a decent time since I'll be riding with the sun. Don't know exactly when I'll be making my way back to Illinois, but if you all are so determined to see me, I jumped an ocean and a continent, you could bloody well follow for a few states. :P

so yeah, more info later once I've slept!

[06 Dec 2005|06:07pm]
I know I should be posting more on here, especially after the sort of declarations I've had to make in the past few. Anyway, short of it is that I've been really busy the past week or two with changing around plans and setting things up. Gimme a couple weeks, and I should not only have a lot more time to explain/discuss, but perhaps even feel like talking about some of the things at length too! Either way, I'm fine and I'll talk to everyone when I get a chance. Later.

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

In November I saved a busload of nuns in Angola (326 points). In July I helped peeled hide a body (-173 points). In February I gave veeee a wet willie, then I took it back (-5 points). Last Monday I gave twistedtwilight a kidney (1000 points). Last month I farted in an elevator (-6 points).

Overall, I've been nice (1142 points). For Christmas I deserve a Lego set!

I guess no matter what my age, Legos still work as a christmas gift.

For whatever small portion of people may look at this, and don't check Kinna's livejournal as well, relationship is over. Hammering out the details on backup plans. More likely though, I'd probably talk to most of the people I know via IM than on here. Anyway, later folks!
